King, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, says the United States stands with Israel.
Israeli aircraft struck crowded areas in the Gaza Strip on Monday, driving up the Palestinian death toll to 94 and devastating several homes belonging to one clan as Israel broadened its targets in the 6-day-old offensive meant to quell Hamas rocket fire on Israel.
"This is strictly an act of self-defense by Israel. Israel is doing what it has to do. If we can work things out diplomatically that's fine but in the meantime we have to make it clear we stand with Israel every step of the way," said King.
