ATLANTA -

A 92-year-old woman is now in elite company after knocking down a hole-in-one at the Chastain Park Golf Course.

Betty Hanzlick delivered the perfect shot on the 14th hole of the course during cold, windy weather on Wednesday afternoon.

"I couldn't believe it. You see, we didn't know it until we got down there," she said.

Three team members of the North Fulton Women's Golf Association verified the shot.

Course golf pro Matt Adams said Betty, now nicknamed "Ace," said many professional players go entire careers without a hole-in-one.

"I've played this golf course for the last 12, 15 years and I've not had a hole-in-one yet," said Adams.

According to industry magazine Golf Digest, the odds of a PGA tour Pro hitting a hole-in-one are 3,756 to one; the odds of an amateur pulling it off are 12,750 to one.

Betty aced a hole in one after swinging through the greens and sand traps before the 14th.

"She has 13 holes to get under her belt so she came to this hole with enough energy and strength to get herself a hole in one. That's what makes it unique," Adams said.

Betty said she started golf as a teen, taking it up again after moving to Georgia from Ohio after her husband died in the late 80s.

"Most people my age can't get around like this. If you don't keep going you just can't do it," she said.

Adams says that the course will present Hanzlick with an official plaque marking her hole-in-one soon.
