Bloomingdale's holiday windows

MYFOXNY.COM -

It is the most wonderful time of the year and New Yorkers are getting ready for the holidays. There is nothing like the hustle and bustle of shoppers, especially on Lexington Avenue where there is so much to see.

Bloomingdale's teamed up with the upcoming 3D spectacular "Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away" for the store's holiday window display. Scenes from the film come to life inside the windows with hand painted fantasy murals and sculpted animation that tumbles and soars.

This year the window displays are going high tech with virtual and augmented reality.

Cirque du Soleil performers came out for the big unveiling and showed off their flexibility.

From the big top to the big screen James Cameron is bringing this 3D adventure to theatres on December 21.

Get ready to leap, soar, swim and dance with the performers. The window displays will be lit now until January. Make sure you come see them. They are guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.

It once was an accepted tactic as old as policing itself and, according to the NYPD, a key to the city's dramatic drop in crime: patrol officers stopping young men on the street to see if they're up to no good.
