Montgomery County, Pa. -

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman says her office will investigate a deadly crash that killed a 16-year-old high school student.

According to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, the teenager was walking across High Street and Sunnyside Ave. in Lower Pottsgrove Township Monday just before 9 p.m. when he was struck by a car.

The student was flown to Hahnemann Hospital but was declared dead. The district attorney says an autopsy was scheduled to be conducted in Philadelphia.

Investigators with the Lower Pottsgrove Township Police Department say the driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old Collegeville woman, remained at the scene after the accident and voluntarily provided blood to police.
