A toddler drowned Sunday in a pond at a Long Island Park.

Suffolk County police say the two-year-old boy fell into a pond at Heckscher Park in Huntington Station about 11:40 a.m.

Police responded to a 911 call and found a good Samaritan administering CPR to the boy.

The boy had been at the park with his father.

A police officer rushed the toddler and his father to Huntington Hospital in Huntington but it was too late to save the boy.

Police are calling the death accidental.
