It's back to what's left of the homes on Long Beach Island.
Superstorm Sandy whipped around beach front houses knocking some of off their pilings.
A two story house on 82nd street was sheared to a one story home.
Seeing the damage for the first time had neighbor Lynn Carroll choking back tears.
"It's terrible! It's terrible! My heart goes out to them," she said talking about her neighbors.
"This is our slice of heaven and it's ruined! It's done."
Jeff Kleinbaum said looking at his storm ravaged dream home.
Flood water invested the house leaving mud all over the floor. Some of the water was still taking shelter in his wife Deborah's brand new dryer.
The couple's furniture was also destroyed along with their deck, front porch and everything else attached to their house.
"I wanted to cry," said Kleinbaum's wife Deborah. "But I said you can't. You don't have the luxury right now. You have to wait. You can cry later you have to get all the work done."
Residents dressed in hazmat suits going through their homes cleaning up Sandy's mess.
Now that they're allowed to stay, some have already started pulling out sheet rock, worried about mold.
Tractors and dump trucks worked to clear mounds of sand dumped on the streets...some of it so deep it buried cars Sandy took for a spin.
Years of people's treasured belongings are destroyed and line the streets.
And Holgate residents still aren't allowed to return home yet.
Despite the destruction residents say they're uniting to help rebuild their beach front community.
