Pennsauken Officer Opens Fire During Traffic Stop

A Pennsauken police officer shot a man in the calf after he fled a vehicle during a traffic stop.

The incident happened at 27th Street and Marlton Pike in Pennsauken just before 3:00 this morning.

Once fleeing the passenger seat of a vehicle, 25-year-old Aaron McNeil ran towards the Washington Park Apartments where he pointed a gun at officers.  The officer fired and struck McNeil in the calf. 

McNeil was treated and released from the hospital.  He is currently in police custody.

He is facing Aggravated Assault and weapon offense charges.
