NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a shooting at a Newark gas station that left a 25-year-old man dead.
The Essex County prosecutor's office identified the victim of Friday night's shooting as Hykine Johnson of Newark.
Police responding to a report of a shooting at about 7:45 p.m. found Johnson inside the gas station's mini-mart, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Authorities say the initial investigation reveals that Johnson was shot inside the mini-mart and was targeted. No arrests have been made.
