“Crime and schools” – what the next Detroit mayor should focus on

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

"Crime, crime, and schools" – focusing on those will help grab the next title of Mayor of Detroit, according to former Detroit Police Chief Ike McKinnon.

This advice comes after rumors that retiring DMC CEO Mike Duggan is interested in running for Mayor of Detroit. Duggan announced his retirement to employees Thursday, November 8th. His term will end December 31st.

According to McKinnon anyone bringing change from the outside would be welcome to lead the city.

The only person who has officially put their name in the running for the next term is State Representative Lisa Howze. Current Mayor Dave Bing has not yet given word on whether he will run again.
