PHILADELPHIA -

A former high-ranking Philadelphia police official who finds himself on the other side of the law again is now being held on bail set at $1 million.

Leo Haley, 72, was arraigned Thursday night, and he next faces a preliminary hearing on Nov. 27, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said in a news release Friday.

Haley allegedly attempted to lure an 8-year-old girl in her Roxborough front yard. He's charged with unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, luring a child into a motor vehicle, and harassment.

The former police inspector was also arrested in Delaware County back in 2010 as part of a child pornography investigation. He was recently released from jail on probation and is a registered sex offender on Pennsylvania's Megan's law list.
