Suffolk and Nassau Counties announced an end to gas rationing starting this weekend.

The odd-even plate-based plan ends at 11:59 p.m. on Friday.

The system was enacted on Nov. 9.

"This temporary fuel policy will ease the challenges residents of the bi-county region are experiencing in the aftermath of the storm," said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone at the time. "Our citizens travel between Nassau and Suffolk without regard to county borders and it only makes sense that we adopt a regional solution. I thank my counterpart Nassau County Executive Mangano for working with me to adopt this policy."

New York City is continuing the rationing system.

New Jersey had a similar plan in place that helped to limit long lines at gas stations before gas supplies caught up with demand.
