Twitter is buzzing around Election Day and the day after.

Before the election results came in, Mayor Emanuel tweeted: "I'm proud of our President and I look forward to hearing his victory speech in #Chicago tonight. Go vote!"

President Obama did radio interviews Tuesday, including one with Ryan Seacrest.

On Tuesday, Seacrest tweeted: "Spoke to @BarackObama – breaking -- his guilty pleasure is nachos & guac. #presidentincheese #donttellmichelle"

Also on Election Day, Mitt Romney tweeted a photo of him voting, saying "This is it. Make sure you vote today."

On Wednesday, after the election results were in, many athletes sent out tweets. Some of them were to congratulate the president and others had a message for politicians.

Brian Dawkins said, "This is 1 of the reasons I totally dislike election time. Brings out the worst in so many usual GOOD folk BECAUSE we don't SEE EVERYTHING the same!!"

Jeremy Shockey tweeted: "Hope he improves but most importantly I hope our country stays strong."

"Looks as if we have our President! Any chance we could now join hands & try 2 grow as a country or will we cont 2 b divided by parties?" Kurt Warner tweeted.

Scott Fujita had this to say: "I've spent most days the past few years in a locker next to @phil_dawson, & we work together quite well. Can House & Senate do the same?"
