MYFOXNY.COM -

A large fire was burning in Jersey City, N.J. on Monday afternoon.

The fire was started in one building on Bramhall Ave. and appeared to have spread to at least one adjoining property.

The roof on one building had flames pouring out from the front to the back, with thick smoke pouring into the sky.

Flames were also coming through the roof of the second apartment building.

Several fire crews were on the scene.  Crews were pouring water from ladder trucks and from the ground.

There reportedly was a mayday call from one crew but they apparently made it out of the structure.

There were no initial reports on injuries from the scene.
