Child falls 3-stories after jumping on bed

DUNWOODY, Ga. -

A 6-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital Sunday evening after falling from the 3rd floor bedroom window at a Dunwoody apartment complex.

Dunwoody police report
that the girl was at the Wellesley Apartments on Meadow Lane during a family gathering around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. A few of the children were jumping on the bed when she lost her balance and ended up falling out of an open window.

Police say the girl fell about 40 to 50 feet to the concrete below.When emergency crews and police arrived, they found her shaken, but mostly unharmed. She was rushed to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite with minor injuries. She was in good condition, but was being held for observation.

No charges are expected to be filed.
