DETROIT (WJBK) -- A mangled Ford Taurus and wreckage scattered across the 5400 block of Holcomb is all that is left after family members say 15-year-old Tyrone Lamb lost control of a car and slammed into a tree around 6:30 a.m. Friday.  The teen may have been going close to 100 miles an hour on the street where he lived.

"I heard a loud impact, (sounded) like a bomb went off, and then I saw... one individual exit the car and he fell on the ground.  He couldn't make it (any) further, and then it took about an hour or so to get the driver and another passenger out of the car," said neighbor Donald Harris.

Sadly, Lamb died and two other 15-year-olds are in critical condition.  Police say a 14-year-old also suffered less serious injuries.  We're told the car with Ohio plates was stolen, but the teens were not being chased by officers.  Police also tell us the three other victims are Enijah Lamb, Rodney Wright and Marcus Young.

Tyrone, who did not have a driver's license, was the youngest of ten children.

Family members say Tyone had struggled after his father was killed in a shooting a year ago, but that he was back in school and getting back on track.

"Tyrone had to lose his life over some dumb stuff," said cousin Charlene Lamb.  "He wasn't a bad kid at all.  Everybody (has) choices that they make."

It's still not clear whether the two critically injured teens will survive.
