Welcome one and all to the 2012 Pistons season and even though it's only been 1 game so far-- a loss to Houston-- there are some aspects of the team to shout about. At the top of that list is the energy level.... based on what I saw on opening night, Detroit can put the game into high gear and a prime example was the 3rd quarter against the Rockets. Detroit showed that if they can stay in rhythm, then success will follow. The team using just half of the shot clock to either put up a shot or take the ball to the rim in that 3rd quarter and the result was a lead. Now on the other side of that coin is defense, and that's an area that needs a bit more work. In my opinion, big man Greg Monroe needs to use his good footwork on the defensive end of the floor-- if that can happen then Andre Drummond becomes much more effective as a help defender and the guards will be able to ignite the running game that much quicker. As I said, it's only after 1 game but Head Coach Lawrence Frank and G.M. Joe Dumars seem to be pointed in the right direction and I'm one of the fans that will give them a little more time to put together a winner here in the "D"!!! See you at the Palace!!!
