The Regional Trainer for Planned Parenthood of Illinois provides initial and ongoing training to new and existing health center RHA staff in one-on-one and group settings.

Essential Functions:

1. Coordinate and facilitate initial training for new, health center and contact center staff upon employment and at designated intervals.

2. In conjunction with Regional Directors and health center managers, coordinate and conduct on-site training and ongoing development with center support staff.

3. Implement evaluation tools to ensure standardized, high quality training of center staff. Assess impact/efficacy of training and work with Regional Directors and Medical Services staff to assure continuous improvement.

4. Structure, implement, and evaluate one-on-one training, group training sessions, and web-based learning activities. Coordinate the scheduling, planning and evaluation of in-services under the direction of the Medical Services Training Manager and in conjunction with center managers as necessary.

5. Through these activities, demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to PPIL core values of respect, knowledge, responsibility, health, compassion and access; practice these values in relations with internal and external customers.

Other Responsibilities:

1. In conjunction with Medical Services, implement orientation and trainings for new health center and contact center staff.

2. Demonstrate proficiency as a Trainer in lab skills, family planning services, abortion services, electronic practice management system skills, and other center responsibilities.

3. Conduct on-site training at various health centers to ensure staff proficiency in lab skills, family planning services, abortion services, electronic practice management system skills, and other center responsibilities.

4. Communicate requests for ongoing training and in-service needs as needed.

5. Evaluate staff skills and report on the impact/efficiency of training programs.

6. Implement "train the trainer" workshops to develop staff in order to deliver consistent training messages and outcomes.

7. Track trainings and educational programs and compile all related documentation (e.g. attendance logs, proficiency, etc.) in conjunction with appropriate staff.

8. Attend meetings with the Medical Services team, and the rest of the training team to assure standardized and efficient services to Planned Parenthood staff.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisor: Director of Contact Center and Training

Status: Full time, exempt from the overtime provisions of the wage and salary administration policies.

Salary: Exempt if paid a salary. Non-exempt if paid hourly.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelors degree and background in healthcare and/ reproductive health preferred.

Experience: Ongoing experience in a teaching or training function; experience in a health care setting, preferably Planned Parenthood.

Professional Qualities: Motivated self-starter and fast learner with high degree of personal discipline. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people. Ability to work with and assess comprehension levels from many types of learners. Patience, initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision are required. Ability and willingness to reliably travel among sites and work evening and weekends as necessary is a must.
