Commuter Stations to assist gridlocked drivers

The commute into New York City was a mess on Thursday soon after the HOV +3 restriction went into affect.

One transportation advocacy group tried to ease the gridlock by providing tips and snacks to commuters at key congested traffic areas in Manhattan.

"Transportation Alternatives" helped bikers, walkers and transit riders by opening up "Commuter Stations."

Their Executive Director, Paul Steely White, spoke with Good Day New York on Thursday.

Commuter Station locations:

8 am- 11 am

6th Ave and 26th St.

Manhattan Bridge, Bowery & Canal

Williamsburg Bridge, Clinton &Delancey

Queensboro Bridge, Crescent & Queens Plaza

5 pm- 7 pm

5th Ave. and 25th Street

Manhattan Bridge, Bowery & Canal

Williamsburg Bridge, Clinton & Delancey
