DETROIT (WJBK) - A nine-year-old Detroit boy reported missing for more than 18 hours has been found safe inside his elementary school.

Tywon Young's mother, Termina Washington, reported him missing once he didn't return home from trick-or-treating with friends Wednesday afternoon.

FOX 2's Al Allen reports that Tywon instead stayed with his Washington's friend last night on the city's west side. Allen says he was afraid to tell his mother about a suspension he received last week at Durfee Elementary School.

Washington tells Allen she was unaware of the suspension and no one called to let her know where her son was. The two could been seen leaving Durfee shortly after 11 a.m.

We'll have more on this story throughout the day and during FOX 2 News tonight beginning at 5 p.m.
