DETROIT (WJBK) - A fire that swept through two buildings on the city's west side Thursday morning has destroyed a familiar neighborhood store and an abandoned bar.

Fire crews had spent several hours battling the blaze that started at the Dexter Bar on the 11000 block of Dexter Ave. and spread to the neighboring Magic Dollar Store.

"There were a lot of great people here," said store manager Tina Lay. "This is going to make a big effect on the neighborhood." Click the video player to hear more from Lay.

Officials say no one was inside either building and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
