Two people died in New Jersey during the storm Monday night when a tree fell on their car. Two children in the car were also injured but survived.
It happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. in Mendham Township.
Police responded to a 911 call reporting an accident involving a tree down on a car.
Emergency responders found the unidentified man and woman dead in the vehicle. They were able to rescue the two children from the car.
The tree was 2-3 feet in diameter.
The Morris County Medical Examiner was at the scene. The identity of the victims was being withheld until relatives could be notified of the tragedy.
The Morris County Communications Center, as well as all of the emergency response agencies throughout Morris County, were reported to be extremely busy taking 911 calls.
Emergency responders countywide were responding to a number of incidents as a result of the storm.
