GREENPORT, N.Y. (AP) - The fishing town of Greenport on the eastern edge of Long Island is deluged with seawater.
One street is nearly under water.
Most of the stores are deserted and boarded up with plywood. The water is almost up to the windows of 1 dockside restaurant.
Fishing boats are rocking violently against the docks, which are barely visible above the rising tide.
Most of the town has been ordered to evacuate. But it's unclear how many people had actually heeded the order.
Sean Seal was still piling dirt and sandbags onto the alleyway behind his collectibles store Monday. The water was steadily creeping up the street toward his front door. He's worried he might lose everything in the storm. He opened the shop about two months ago.
