NEW YORK (AP) - New Yorkers who rely on the subway to get around are out of luck today.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority suspended subway and bus service last night in anticipation of flooding from Hurricane Sandy.
Rather than fret about it, some people have taken the opportunity to enjoy some down time. Alyssa Marks was among those rushing to beat the subway closure last night, clutching a pillow in one hand and two laptops in the other. Marks lives in a high-rise but is riding out the storm with a friend in lower Manhattan.
Marks is nervous but says she's also excited -- adding that the pair's plans include getting some wine, cuddling up and watching movies.
