FOX Chicago Sunday Reporter’s Notebook: President Obama's early vote

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

President Barack Obama was in town last week for early voting where some voters were excited to see him.

It was wheels down at O'Hare for Air Force One. President Barack Obama was in town last week to cast his ballot for president.

He did so in his voting district at 44th and South Cottage Grove. The president was in town for about three hours, and here's my observation:

While some political pundits are talking about voter apathy saying energy and excitement are missing this time around while President Obama is out stomping for votes.

I was on the South Side near his polling place and you should've seen the crowds and felt the excitement. In the president's home town for a couple of seconds I was reminded of being in Grant Park in 2008 when he won.

I saw a number of families, young adults, and senior citizens standing around talking about the election trying to encourage others to get out and vote.

At that polling place since early voting began last week the lines have been long.
