NYC school worker on life support after attack

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - A Greenwich Village music school administrator is in critical condition after being beaten on a Queens street.

Lou Rispoli is on life support at Elmhurst Hospital following the early Saturday attack near his Sunnyside home.

The New York Post reports that friends described Rispoli as an insomniac who liked to take walks at night. They said he had left his house around midnight. Witnesses said two men approached him around 2:15 a.m., and one hit him in the head with a stick.

Rispoli worked at the Greenwich House Music School.

Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer, a friend of Rispoli's, said it was hard to believe that someone would get away with the crime.

Police said no arrests have been made.
