Legal case over WTC spire steel settled

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and a Canadian company have settled a lawsuit over steel for an antenna that will sit atop One World Trade Center.

A joint announcement was made Tuesday by the Port Authority, ADF Steel Corp. and WTC 1 LLC.

The Manhattan lawsuit had said the company refused to ship remaining steel for the spire while demanding about $6 million in payments for another project.

One World Trade Center is being built to replace the twin towers destroyed on 9/11.

The antenna will be 408 feet tall when completed.
