HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy is calling a new TV ad from his Republican opponent in Connecticut's close Senate race "absolutely deceitful" and "strange."

The commercial showcases several Democratic voters who are supporting both Linda McMahon and Democratic President Barack Obama.

In an interview Monday with The Associated Press, Murphy said "it's a lie" that McMahon would work with Obama, predicting she would oppose him "on everything he stands for."

McMahon spokesman Todd Abrajano (ah-brah-JAH'-noh) said while McMahon supports Republican Mitt Romney for president, she is willing to work with anyone.

He said there are many Democrats and unaffiliated voters in this Democratic-leaning state who like McMahon's jobs plan and are willing to split their ticket. McMahon's name appears on both the GOP and independent lines of the ballot.
