N.J. Transit train strikes pedestrian

A police investigation is underway in Plainfield, New Jersey after a pedestrian was struck by a N.J. Transit train early Monday morning.

Service is back to normal on the Raritan Valley line after delays in both directions, according to NJ Transit.

The Raritan Valley Line train was headed to Newark with about 150 passengers aboard when the accident occurred at 5:25 a.m. Monday.

The passengers were transferred to another train, reported the Associated Press.

The pedestrian was taken to UMDNJ in New Brunswick in unknown condition.

N.J. Transit buses are cross-honoring rail tickets this morning.
