Fatal hit-and-run in Brooklyn

Police are looking for the suspect who struck and killed a man with his vehicle and fled the scene in Brooklyn Sunday afternoon. 

Officers responded to the call of a hit-and-run and found a 42-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive at Highland Boulevard and Vermont Place in East New York around 1:15 p.m. 

Police said the victim was walking southbound on Vermont Place, when he was struck by a white vehicle traveling westbound on Highland Boulevard. The driver then left the scene. 

EMS took the unidentified victim to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
