The Big Salad's White Bean and Chicken Chili Soup

2 T Olive Oil
1/2 medium - large onion (diced)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 medium - large bell red pepper (diced)
1/2 medium - large carrot (diced)
1/2 C water
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 fresh jalapeno (diced)
4.5 oz green chili peppers
3 C chicken broth
4 chicken breasts (shredded and diced)
2 T chili powder
1/4 C fresh lime juice
48 oz great white northern beans
1/2 C refried beans
1/2 T taco seasoning

Heat pan and add olive oil.  
On low to medium heat, add onions, salt and pepper; cook for 10 minutes (do not brown)
Add red bell peppers and carrots; cook for 10 minutes
Add water
Add garlic, jalapeno and green chili peppers; cook for 5 minutes
Add chicken broth, chili powder, taco seasoning and lime juice; let simmer for 5 minutes
Add chicken, white beans and refried beans; let simmer for 2 hours
