3 NYC motorbike gangs accused of weapons dealing

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD has arrested and charged seven motorcycle gang members of trafficking high-caliber weapons.

The arrests were made during pre-dawn raids on 15 locations in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

The recovered weapons included AK-46 assault rifles, home-made bombs and a .410-caliber revolver. Authorities said some of the guns were found at a gang member's home where his wife ran a daycare center.

The gangs were identified as the Forbidden Ones, the Dirty Ones and the Trouble-makers.

The New York Times says members of the Forbidden Ones would point a cannon with .50-caliber rounds at the front door during their secret meetings at their clubhouse.

Police said most of the gun sales were conducted in tattoo parlors.
