Clumsy crooks bungle burglary attempt in Dunwoody

Posted: Updated:
DUNWOODY, Ga. -

Dunwoody police say three men tried to steal stacks of high-end shirts from a department store but left with nothing

Police detectives say the crooks pulled a car up to the curb outside Dillard's department store at the Perimeter Mall just before noon Saturday.

Surveillance cameras captured the trio as they casually headed to the pricey Polo shirt displays.  Two of the three grabbed a stack of shirts and bolted for the exit.  But then, one clumsy crook stumbled and fell. His buddy then tripped over him. Both dropped their armloads of clothing.

Police say they fled in a stolen vehicle -- a 2013 Kia Sorrento with Georgia tags.

The men face theft by receiving and attempted larceny charges.
