DETROIT (WJBK) -

Detroit police say two officers were injured when their patrol car was hit by a vehicle driven by a woman who failed to heed a stop sign.

The department says the officers were on patrol around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night on the city's east side when their car was hit by a 1998 Mercury Marquis driven by a 47-year-old woman.

Police say the officers were taken to St. John hospital where they are listed in temporary serious condition.

The woman was arrested Sunday for driving with a suspended license.
