The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for shooting an arrow through the neck of a white domestic duck.

Authorities say the male duck was found on Poe Place in North Patchogue and was taken to the Selden Animal Emergency Clinic by SPCA personnel.

Veterinarians said that the arrow punctured the duck's esophagus but it is expected to make a full recovery.

The duck will be rehabilitated by the Star Foundation, a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.

A Suffolk SPCA official said that the arrow was recovered and their investigation is ongoing.

SPCA officials ask anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.
