A new product called the Pear Training Intelligence intelligence system for the iPhone comes with a heart rate monitor, earphones, and uses the GPS already built into your phone.
Right off the bat, you run for 20 minutes, first slowly, then faster, so the machine can calibrate to you.
You listen to elite running coach Matt Fitzgerald's voice as he guides you through some workouts. He will even remind you to drink water.
If you want to listen to your music during your run you can.
This is a brand-new product, but is very similar to another one that Pear Sports has produced before.
We looked up reviews for that product online. Almost everyone gave it five stars.
The complaints from those who didn't: technical glitches and trouble downloading the program.
The device costs $150.
But Fitzgerald pointed out that good running shoes may cost you that much, too, and that once you invest in the device, the app is free and most of the content is free.
The app features training programs for 5Ks, marathons, endurance, weight loss and everything in between for those looking to get to the next level, whatever works for your goal.
"It's a real human coach guiding you through workouts so you don't have to think them up for yourself," Fitzgerald said.
