A boa constrictor was found abandoned on a street corner Wednesday afternoon on Long Island.

Suffolk County cops responded to a 911 call and found the three-foot-long snake with a broken fish tank at the Mastic Road and Roberts Road in Mastic, according to the Suffolk SPCA.

Chief Roy Gross said the snake was alive but cannot survive for very long in cold weather.

"If you see a reptile, you should use extreme caution and not handle it," Gross said in a news release.

The chief said he does not know if this snake is somehow connected to the slew of abandoned alligators on Long Island.

The SPCA brought the snake to an animal sanctuary.
