NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Screeners at Newark Liberty International Airport have seized a stun gun that was designed to look like a cell phone.
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein says a screener working at a Terminal A checkpoint spotted the weapon early Wednesday as it passed through a metal detector.
Farbstein noted that under the gun's screen is a button on the right side, a button that typically is pressed to make a call on cell phones But on this weapon, the button says "STUN."
The passenger, whose name was not released, was due to take a flight from Newark to Charlotte, N.C. Instead, he was arrested on a weapons charge by Port Authority police.
