ATLANTA -

Authorities say a suspicious package found on Tuesday afternoon at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in northeast Atlanta is not dangerous.  The package was found earlier in the afternoon, and fire and police crews were called in to investigate.

Offices in the vicinity of the package were evacuated as a precaution.  Though the package was not deemed dangerous, the CDC says they will continue to conduct tests on the box that was found, based on where it was found and the work that is done at the CDC.

The CDC says it's standard procedure to call in fire and police crews as well as a bomb squad to investigate for a suspicious package.
