Federal agents have seized 50 pounds of methamphetamine from a boardinghouse in Westchester County.

The Drug Enforcement Administration called it the biggest such bust in New York State history.

Officials said the drug was seized during a raid at 71 Church Street in New Rochelle on Sunday.

The house is located across the street from a Christian Fellowship Church.

The white, odorless, bitter-tasting powder has a street value of $800,000.

Meth increases the release and blocks the reuptake of the brain chemical dopamine which is involved in the experience of pleasure, according to the National Institutes of Health.

DEA spokeswoman Erin Mulvey said two people were taken into custody.

Further details were not released.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
