Mother Killed, Son Wounded In Northern Liberties Shooting

Posted: Updated:

Police want to know who shot a mother and son inside their own Northern Liberties home on Sunday night.

Gunshots rang out on the 700 block of North Third Street around 9 p.m.

When police arrived, they found a 65-year-old woman dead inside and her 40-year-old son shot in the face.

"There was a very violent scene inside," Chief Inspector Scott Small said. "There was blood on all three floors and also some ballistic evidence inside the property."

Investigators were interviewing witnesses Monday morning. They reported no motive in the case.
