Ga. victims get chance to talk to parole board

Posted: Updated:
VALDOSTA, Ga. -

Georgia crime victims will have a chance to discuss the crimes and the offenders involved.

A victims visitors' day will be held Tuesday at the Lowndes County Judicial Complex in Valdosta. It is meant to provide crime victims and their families with information about the current status of the offenders. It will also give them an opportunity to register to receive future notifications about the status of offenders.

It also aims to give victims a chance to meet with parole board members to voice their concerns.

It's being organized by the Department of Corrections and the State Board of Pardons and Paroles' Office of Victim Services in collaboration with the Southern Judicial Circuit and Alapaha Judicial Circuit's Victim Witness Assistance Program.
