MYFOXNY.COM -

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Hamptons International Film Festival, where actors, directors, writers and producers all come out to share their passion for cinema.

Many local filmmakers will have their work screened here at the festival. "59 Middle Lane" is one documentary making its world debut and has the closet ties to East Hampton.

In 2001 there was a murder in East Hampton: a millionaire father was dead and suspicion fell upon his wife and lover.

The death of Ted Ammon shocked the community and many had suspicions his wife, Generosa, was involved. They were going through a heated divorce and she began to have an affair with her electrician, Daniel Pelosi.

But behind the headlines were the ruined lives of two young children, twins Greg and Alexa Ammon, who were only 10. Now these children are young adults and are ready to share their horrific experience with the world.

They were adopted from the Ukraine when they were infants, but were orphaned again when their mother passed away from cancer just a few years after Ted's death.

Greg and Alexa's journey takes you back to the childhood they escaped before they got to know and then they revisited their East Hampton home at 59 Middle Lane, which holds the painful memories and deaths of both their parents.

The 20th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival runs until October 8, 2012.
