Live Green Fair in Ferndale to feature eco-friendly vendors

Posted: Updated:

FERNDALE, Mich. -- From industrial food containers transformed into homemade rain barrels to a SmartKlean ball that claims to wash your clothes without laundry detergent, you'll find a host of earth friendly products and ideas at Ferndale's Live Green Fair.

"There (are) a hundred booths to check out with experts on everything from solar wind and geothermal power to organic food and organic pet food," said Bart Loeb, the fair's producer.

The fair is now in its third year.  Loeb said the number of exhibitors and participants continues to grow.

The show also features home improvements, high efficiency appliances, windows, insulation and more.

Organizers say this event is meant to encourage people to live green, save energy and leave a smaller carbon footprint on our planet.

The Live Green Fair takes place along Nine Mile Road from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is free.
