ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Republican U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long is reporting that she and her husband paid $335,000 in federal taxes for last year on income of $1.24 million.

Long, a lawyer, paid $134,731 in New York state taxes.

Long's campaign made her 2011 joint tax returns available for review by reporters in Albany on Friday.

Her opponent, Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, posted five years of tax returns on her Senate website earlier this year. Gillibrand and her husband reported $165,614 in income last year and paid $28,828 in federal taxes. They paid $9,735 in state taxes.

Long and her husband reported giving $30,000 to charity, including cash, baby items and opera tickets.

Long's husband, Arthur Long, is an attorney at Davis Polk in New York City.
