A woman from Jersey City was reportedly slammed against a wall by a man who tried to steal her iPhone at the 9th Street PATH station.
The 37-year-old victim was put into a choke-hold when she refused to hand over her phone, the NY Post reported.
Surveillance cameras captured the assault.
In the video, the attacker is seen following the woman, peeking around the corner and waiting for the moment she takes out her phone to pounce, the Post added.
The woman refuses to give up her phone and the man runs off.
Commuters who saw the frightened woman on the ground came over to help.
Photos from the surveillance video were released Thursday.
