New store offers deep discounts, money for clothes

BUFORD, Ga -

Good news for ladies looking to deals on clothing, shoes and accessories. A new store in metro Atlanta is allowing customers to not only spend money, but make money as well on designer items.

The consignment concept can be pretty cool. Customers agree to let a store sell unwanted goods, but it used to be one had to wait for the items to be sold before getting paid. Now, there is an option in Georgia that can be dangerous to shopping addicts... Immediate gratification.

Designer purses, shoes, jeans, jewelry, coats and more can be found at the store for a fraction of their original cost. Somewhere between a thrift store and a consignment shop is Clothes Mentor.

Basically, women bring in their clothes and it gets evaluated. They look for items that have been new to stores in the last two years and still in gently used condition. If it meets their criteria, customers will get instant cash.

Owners Neal Crumb and his wife Tracy recently brought the first franchise to Georgia. The one in Buford is just one of 60 across the nation.

The store sells clothes to women only. They offer everything from business to maternity to athletic wear. And of course, they offer accessories from many different designers.

And the deals are plenty. Customers can find a great purse for around $20 which would normally retail for $400.

Those deals are determined by a computer system that automatically determines the value.
