EAGLEVILLE, Pa. -

As part of Wednesday's Walk or Roll to School Day, officials with PennDOT encouraged students across the state to find ways to get to school safely.

Local police and the Safe Kids Coalition Southeastern Pennsylvania were on-hand at Eagleville Elementary School for the event, which is part of the International Walk to School Day.

Organizers say the day celebrates walking and bicycling while building community awareness of the advantages of walkable communities.

Safety experts offered students tips and ways to safely get to and from school.

You can find safety tips and resources on the Safe Routes to School Pennsylvania Program website.
