Nearly 70 percent of all deadly bicycle crashes involve head injuries. Wearing a helmet significantly reduces the risk. Olympic medalist Summer Sanders is spreading the word and helping outfit kids with head gear.
Sanders is a representative for the Helmets On Heads program aimed at educating bike riders of all ages on the importance of wearing helmets.
Sanders will be visiting P.S. 41 in New York City on Thursday.
