Emergency crews were on the scene of a deadly accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County on Wednesday.

The State Police says a dump truck overturned just after 10 a.m. and burst into flames. The Associated Press reported that the driver died in the crash.

All lanes were closed in both directions between Interchanges 7A and 5 in Washington Township for several hours.

In the late afternoon all northbound lanes and one southbound lane were reopened.

The accident also forced officials to close sections of Interstate 195 for several hours because the truck hit an overpass and there was concern about damage.

Route 1 and I-295 were alternate routes for Southbound traffic.

The name of the driver who died had not been released.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
