PHILADELPHIA -

Andrew McCarthy is best known for his movies, but now he's on a new journey. The actor joined the FOX 29 "Good Day" crew to preview his new book.

The new book, "The Longest Way Home," is about settling down, the actor said.

The book describes the journey within that we often find when traveling to new places.

McCarthy says the message is that we're all endlessly struggling for connection, always looking for that moment when we connect. He hopes readers can identify with the topics he explores in the new book.

You can see the full "Good Day" interview with McCarthy in the video above.

McCarthy will be at the Free Library at 1901 Vine Street Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Philadelphia to discuss his travels and his new book.
